The Chelmsford Veterans Memorial Park Committee is happy to announce the addition of new memorial stones to the Park. A limited number of stones, engraved with the names of Chelmsford veterans will be added to the main body of the Park. This is the first expansion to the park in over fifteen years. The proposed dedication of the new stones is planned for Flag Day, June 14, 2008 @ 1:00 PM To qualify a name for engraving, a living or deceased veteran must: 1) Be a veteran of any military service (Regular forces, Reserves, or National Guard), abroad or Stateside. 2) Be honorably discharged, or presently serving in the Armed Forces. 3) Must have been a Chelmsford resident at the time of service, a current resident, or a resident for at least twenty years. 4) Submit proof of service (a copy of form DD-214 or a copy of Honorable Discharge). 5) Submit a check or money order for $150.00 made out to Chelmsford Veteran’s Memorial Park. If you are interested in having your name or the name of a loved one who meets the requirements engraved on the stone, please send a note with your name and address to the committee and a registration form will be mailed to you. Registration forms will also be available from the Veterans Agent in Chelmsford. The address
is: Chelmsford Veterans Park Committee Registration forms must be returned by December 31, 2007, with proof of service (a copy of DD-214 or copy of Honorable discharge) and a check for $150.00 (NO CASH WILL BE ACCEPTED) to cover the costs of the stones, engraving, and maintenance. Since space is limited, applications will be considered on a first-come basis.
